Here it is already the 2nd of March and I've yet to do my Burda picks for this month! Time is sure flying around here lately.
I was a bit underwhelmed by this months offerings. Bring back fitted and detailed garments, Burda. Pretty please? The only one I can see myself making is jacket 115 - which I do really love - so this issue isn't a total waste. Isn't it so pretty?!
In other sewing news, I have been busy making a dress since my last post a week and a half ago. It's really a simple design and I've had zero fit issues, but it has miles of handstitching. It will be super cute if ever I finish it, but I sure have sore fingers right now.
As it's been awhile since I posted a gratuitous baby picture, here you go. Rachel is 6 months old now and is just as tiny as ever (not that you can tell that from this picture.) Her hair has been plentiful and crazy ever since birth, and I finally decided to see if I could tame it:
She's absolutely adorable! Enjoy your little princess!
ReplyDeleteI felt just like you about this issue "Underwhelmed!" But that is a cute jacket you pointed out. Rachel is adorable! Fun to see pics of her.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhh, she's just the cutest and I can't believe it's been 6 months already. I can't tell she's tiny but know what you mean. My Goddaughter (6 months younger then my own) is on the "petite" side. To me it just adds to the cute-ness. She really is precious! Oh, btw, the jacket is cute too:)
ReplyDeleteWow, that little girl looks mighty alert, wasn't she just born? So cute.
ReplyDeleteCuteness! Love the pigtails. I just got my very first niece two days ago and can't wait to get sewing some pink.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie and her pigtails are darling.
ReplyDeleteAwwwww....thanks for the precious picture of Miss Rachel!!! She looks mighty cute in her little ponytails with the red bows....just like her Mom did. :-)
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute with those little red bows! Great photograph!
ReplyDeleteI also noticed this jacket. It's really pretty. I cannot think of anywhere I would wear it though. No family weddings or anything like that on the horizon.
oh noes, I gave up my subscription to Burda and now you are showing a cute jacket. I wonder if I can buy it from the BurdaStyle site and download it.
ReplyDeleteThen again, maybe the slim pickings this month validate my decision to let the subscription lapse.
Your darling daughter is precious! One of my nieces was a very, very tiny baby, then toddler, etc. Today she is a gorgeous (no longer tiny) young woman.
Love her bright eyes!
What a sweet munchkin! Thanks for sharing the photo, she is beautiful just like mom!
ReplyDeleteShe's so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the little pigtails! :)
That's such a sweet picture and what a pretty smile!
ReplyDeleteAs one doing plenty of hand-stitching at the moment, I can fully relate to the sore fingers. The result of whatever you are making is going to be pretty special I'm sure so hope your fingers are better soon.
I was also underwhelmed by March, though I loved that jacket. I am totally into Rachel's hair bows!
ReplyDeleteShe is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteI try to keep in mind that Burda is trying to please all of us. So the designs and full months which don't appeal to me, work for someone else. I fear that we are seeing the demise of all types of magazines and would particularly miss Burda.
Gorgeous!

She is just so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteRachel is lovely! And her new hairdo is so cute.
ReplyDeleteThat Burda jacket is very you! I love your latest picture of pretty Rachel - she looks so adorable with her hair bows.
ReplyDeleteYour little girl is ADORABLE!!!! I love your jacket pick.
ReplyDeleteShe is pretty as a button.
ReplyDeleteThat jacket was one of my favorites, too! Your daughter is just so adorable!!
ReplyDeleteYou're soooo correct Amanda, that jacket is really pretty! I've not made a jacket in about 3 years, but sure thinking about that one! Rachel is absolutely adorable and love her hair, you did a great job on it!
ReplyDeleteShe's adorable
ReplyDeleteHi, I’ve nominated you for a Stylish Blogger Award – I know you’ve had awards before but I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy seeing all your projects :)
ReplyDeleteYour daughter's such a cutie.
My March Burda hasn't arrived yet, it can't be far away, but I agree with you it's been slim pickings recently. The 115 jacket is really cute with the lace at the bottom, what a nice idea.
ReplyDeleteI got a Versatile Blog award from magdamagda the other day so I'm passing it on to you to thank you for your inspiration xx

You're daughter is adorable! I wish that I had a little girl to sew for!
ReplyDeleteI had asked before (ref- twisted bubble skirt)about matching prints, and sewing formalwear; especially for weddings. I know that your really busy. The reason that I ask about matching prints is that they tell me at Jo-ann's that I don;t need to but that somehow doesn;t sound right. I don;t want to ruin my fabrics by finding out later that I should have. Thanks!
Wow Amanda, you're amazing! I just found your site a few hours ago. I have to say that your clothes are beautiful and they look so professional. You inspire me to do more than kids clothing & crafts.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog! I'm a new follower :-)

I can't believe she is 6 months old already! Seems like you just posted about her birth a couple of weeks ago!

Rachel is just precious!!
ReplyDeleteI am a blog follower, so I don't understand how I am just seeing this post now.
ReplyDeleteRachel is too cute for words. You have tamed her hair nicely...I'm gearing up for that challenge with Nilah as her straight hair has turned to Shirley Temple curls. lol
Can't wait to see you make this Burda jacket. It is gorgeous.
