All it took was removing the bands, letting them out 1/2", cutting off 1.25" from the bottom of the sleeve, regathering and reattaching the sleeve bands. What do you think? I like these MUCH better and they look more like the drawing on the pattern envelope.
My camera does not take good indoor pictures. I was all set to take this picture outside except when I stepped out the door, I got a big surprise. The temperature is currently in the 50's and the wind is blowing. Brrrrr. Come back, spring!
Nice! I'm glad you like it better now. Its a very pretty blouse.
ReplyDeleteA very pretty blouse. It looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteVery cute! Although I do like your sleeve modification, that top picture made me think, "I need some denim capris!" Yours are way cute! And what is up with this weather?? It was so pretty yesterday! Y'all must be getting the same weird cold front we got up here in Temple.
ReplyDeleteI like the current version better, but really, I don't think it's a huge difference from the first top! Must be one of those things that bugged the heck out of you, but to everyone else, it looked good. Or maybe it's hard to tell in pictures how big the differece is?
ReplyDeleteBTW, are you growing your bangs out?! My hair is very similar to yours, and I cut bangs a year and a half ago. I have a very love/hate relationship with them. Some days they look great, and other days I'm almost in tears over them. I've tried to grown them out a few times, but always go back to get them cut....
I love the modifications..... looks good and was definitely worth the time ripping out and re-doing! blessings- linda
ReplyDeleteI agree with you--shaving a little off the sleeve does make it look more like the envelop pic. It's a Cute blouse on ya:)
ReplyDeleteThe sleeve modification really works for you. It was well worth taking hte time and effort!
ReplyDeleteoh yes, I see how the sleeves are better after you raised the hemline. Before, the sleeves ended at the empire waist line and it was too much going on horizontally there. Great
ReplyDeletesave!
But honestly, I would not have noticed it if you hadn't mentioned it. It's cute top!
Very cute. Not too much difference, but when I go back and forth over the pictures, I do like the newer version. It was cruel to do this to us just when we were all ready for some nice warm weather. I'm up the road in North Texas.
ReplyDeleteMuch better. Very cute!
ReplyDeleteYep, second round is better. Capris are TDF.
ReplyDeleteI agree with robin, the sleeve lining up with the empire waist, kept drawing my eye. It's amazing what a small change like that will do to proportions. It's much more youthful now as well.
ReplyDeletethis green greyish color suits you so well
ReplyDeleteI LOVE to sew...it's my favourite thing to do at the weekends and I really really want a career in it...fabulous blog too :)
ReplyDeleteLove love love,

Very cute blouse and it looks great with the capris and heels.
ReplyDeleteOh, I like the change. I think it makes the top seem much more perky and fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI would agree love the sleeves.
ReplyDeleteA subtle change, but it makes quite a big difference.
ReplyDeleteThe amended sleeves look beautiful, quite perfect! You are always so brilliant at working out what needs to be done to a garment to get it just how you want it!
ReplyDeleteI agree they do look better - much sweeter and more feminine!
ReplyDeletei have this pattern too. and this is a good review for me.. beautiful top! u look great :)
ReplyDeleteZhe blouse loks much better now. Very impressing what great impact have.
ReplyDeleteHi there! I really love that top there! Please chaeck out my blog at stylefileims.blogspot.com!! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou've done a lovely job with this top and either sleeve length is ok. The shorter length does balance better with your frame. BTW the fabric is a really great choice.
ReplyDeleteAdorable as always. I love being able to fix something just right and make it all your own.
