I just got the email from McCall's advertising their latest pattern release. Here are the three I especially like:
I really love the pink dress of 5972. It's pretty simple except for all the wonderful ruffles around the neckline. I expect to see a bunch of these sewn up quickly. Ruffles are all the rage right now.
This is 5974 and made for knits. I like view D with the built in ties. Mine won't include the back zipper, though. I don't understand zippers on knit dresses, unless there are some interfaced parts that won't stretch over the body.
5975 is another simple design for knits. I like view C with the cowl neckline. This will be great for fall with a skinny belt, tights and tall boots. Again, no back zipper needed.
I'm getting after Simplicity 2614, which is part of my wardrobe. It is looking extremely cute, if I do say so myself. Oh, and I'm nearly done with my Rusted Root. I'll be back in a day or two...
I really love all of the ruffles on the pink dress, too. I hope you make this one soon. I'd love to see it.
ReplyDeleteI particularly like the Laura Ashley with the ruffles.
ReplyDeleteI like a lot of the ones you do. I also do NOT understand the need for a zipper in knits.
ReplyDeleteBeen a lurker for a while, don't think I've posted on here before though. :-)
ReplyDeleteCrazy...the one with the ruffles was my fave too! I don't know though....it might be almost too girly, and goodness knows I have enough dress patterns! (Considering I never wear them!)
I love the pink dress. I also like the wrap dress. I would not put a zipper in a knit dress as that defeats the purpose of wearing knits.:)
ReplyDeleteHey Amanda,
ReplyDeleteI've just discover your blog, and I'm loving it. You have too much talent and I'm glad that you share it with us.

Love that pink dress with the ruffles as well!
ReplyDeleteI love your picks, especially the ruffle dress. I am going to Hancock's on Labor day. I think the McCall's patterns ar 99c, but as usual, my Hancock's won't have the new patterns in I bet.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I'm always confused about zippers in knits. Burda does this, too! I always eliminate them.
