BWOF July issue - My picks

I seriously thought this month's magazine was lost in the mail. I can't remember ever receiving it on the 2nd of the month! Oh well, it's finally here, I can stop stalking my mailbox.

Pant pattern 102 is my favorite design this month. I have got to put my fear of making pants to rest. The perfect blue linen is already in my stash...

Shorts 107 are super cute. Making shorts doesn't seem that fun to me, but I can't find any RTW that I like or that are flattering. The stores carry only capri's or daisy dukes. I use to always wear the daisy dukes, but now that I'm in my 30's I don't feel comfortable in them.

Maxi dresses are all the rage, right? I'm loving 116 for its super cute neckline. If I sew some bra cups in the top I can wear it without any undergarment issues.

You might think me nuts, but I like this little top, 120. Especially in a shear fabric. Asymmetrical necklines really appeal to me.

Ooh, love top 124. I expect to see a bunch of these made up soon. They are so simple and summery.

We are taking our boys to the circus tonight and then will be out and about for the 4th. I hope you all have a wonderful Independence Day!!!

  1. You can't remember getting your issue past the 2nd of the month? Wow! I remember it was just 4 months ago when my issue was getting here in the middle of the month. The last 3 months it's been by the first or so. I got spoiled. Needless to say, my issue isn't here yet, and I can't say that i'm patiently waiting.

I've had a subscription since 2004 or so, and this is the first issue that I have ever actually wanted. I have convinced myself that's the reason why it's not here yet. I'm holding out hope for Friday, and mail doesn't run on Saturday because of the holiday.

  10. Haha!! I kept thinking maybe it was lost too, but it came today! Yay! I love the halter, but I haven't even seen the preview (or opened mine) yet! So it will be a nice surprise tonight when I sit down after doing the dishes.

I LOVE the last 2 skirts you made...the green print is just fabulous.

  11. Alaska has been unseasonably warm this summer. I actually *need* more than two pairs of shorts. That might be the pattern I tackle first. I love the halter top too.

  12. The halter top does look very simple to make and very cute.

I haven't received my issue yet either. Waiting anxiously.

I don't feel real comfortable making pants either, but I should give it a try at some point.

  15. Hello Amanda !

A few minutes ago I saw your blog the first time and I must say, you are doing so much wonderful things !
Great ! It looks all so perfekt and its allways ablolutely perfekt for you !
But I wonder, why the fotographer make always fotos from you, while he/she stands.
When he/she would go in the knees, that the camera would be in the high of your stomake, your legs would looking longer and more beautiful !
You can see it in the foto with the blue short trouser, so the legs look much longer !

  19. Lisa H. - I honestly don't know. I checked all the bookstores and fabric stores back before I got the subscription and came up empty. That's why I got the subscription, actually. Sorry!

As I live in Mexico, Burda magazines take almost a year to arrive, THIS one I saw it because a friend's relative sent it from Holand, so I asked her the magazine because I just fell in love with this top.
