I was also drawn to the same pieces you listed here. I especially like the velvet jacket. It's similar to one I made up recently, but all the little differences make it something I think I'd like even more.

I'm sorry about your wadder. I've noticed that McCall's has a lot of tops with humungous sleeves like that. I had to cut off half the width of the sleeves for one I made. That's a lot of fabric!

You know, I didn't give that quilted jacket more than a quick glance when I got my magazine yesterday. However after reading your post I went back and looked at the line drawings and it might not be so bad with a fabric choice different than the bulky quilt version shown.

After skipping all Burda issues June to October, I could maybe buy the November issue. I really like jacket 110, although it's probably too difficult for my current sewing skills. I also like the lingerie, especially 133-134.
The plus section (137 and 141 in particular) is more to my liking than the rest of the magazine but I'm a 38 and those patterns start with a 44. Isn't that a pity? But maybe my mom is interested - we'll share the magazine.

I don't have the issue but I really like the pleated skirt and the polo tee. Those would fit into my lifestyle more easily than a quilted jacket or evening gowns.

There isn't too much in this issue that I'm chomping at the bit to sew. Those gowns were nice...maybe for my daughter but like you I have no need. I do like that quilted jacket too, but only if it's not too puffy. NY Elegant Fabrics carries really lovely quilted fabrics; I might have to check them out.

I like your sherpa idea. You might want to take a look at Vogue Fabrics suede with minky attached. It's wonderful and soft. I saw some at the Expo this weekend and am planning what it needs to be made into.

I don't know, I was pretty excited about the asymmetrical evening gowns myself, but then I have a "formal" Christmas dinner party coming up that it would be perfect for. :-)

I love the Jacket 119, and maybe if I can muster up the courage I'll give it a try. I'm also with Kristine on the lingerie--definitely going to have to try some of those! :-)

Like you I really liked that skirt, number 120. I think this one is definitely my favourite this month. I really like the front pleats and those pockets are a nice feature. That velvet jacket is really nice too but I think it's a bit beyond my sewing skills at the moment.

I skipped over the evening gowns, too. They don't fit my lifestyle. I pretty much liked everything you listed. I liked that quilted jacket better after looking at the line drawing. I always get more out of the line drawings.
